This custom built vacation home is on a very private one acre of dramatic coastal forest, only moments from Tofino's surf and sand. Built in 2003, in a contemporary west coast style, the house is designed and inspired from the traditional native long house. Hand-adzed cedar beams by Nuu-chah-nulth master carvers feature the spacious open air living room, dining room and kitchen. Clayoquot Cedar House is a part of Clayoquot Cedars Cox Bay, a small group of artisan-built homes in the heart of Tofino's Cox Bay surfing neighborhood.

Ideally nestled between Tofino's best surf and sand of Cox Bay and Chesterman Beach, Clayoquot Cedar House is located on Tofino's multiple-use path for people, dogs and bicycles. Public trails lead to the nearby beaches (across the road), bird sanctuary (next door), Tofino Visitor's Centre (noted as ?), and local restaurants on the beaches. You can walk or bicycle to nearby stores, Tofino Botanical Gardens or Tofino Village located 6 kilometres away.

Cox Bay beach access is a 10 minute walk, or you can drive to the public parking lot located across the road from the Visitor Centre; south Chesterman Beach is one kilometre via walkway, bicycle or car.

This spacious 1500 sq.ft home has two bedrooms with two full-sized bathrooms and an upstairs sitting room that holds a queen size bed and a single bed. The large master bedroom is 15'x 15' with a round window that overlooks the forest canopy. The master bath features a 6 foot soaker bathtub and separate shower unit, while the second bath features a 48" shower. The second bedroom is 10' x 12' with a beautiful forest view from the second storey.

The house also features an open living room, dining room & kitchen, outdoor BBQ grill on a covered porch with wrap around decks, and herb, vegetable & flower gardens. There is a large covered carport and an outdoor firepit in the garden.

Wireless high speed internet and cable TV will keep you connected when you feel certain that you are a million miles away.

2011 SEASON RATES

Winter & Spring Rates: $225 per night, $600 weekend special for 3 nights, $1200 per week, $2000 for two weeks, $3000 per month.
Winter & Spring Holidays: $1500 for the week, $250 per night, 3 night minimum stay

2011 Summer Rates: June 15 to September 30 weekly rate is $2400. Bookings less than a week are $350 per night, there is a three night minimum stay.

MAXIMUM Guest: 6 Guests plus (we can accommodate extra beds upon request).

PAYMENT: 50% of full amount is required to hold the reservation, remainder is due upon arrival. If paying by cheque, a credit card number is required as a damage deposit at the time of booking.

METHOD OF PAYMENT: We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express cards or a personal cheque.CANCELLATION: Notice must be given a minimum of 21 days before arrival, or deposit will be lost.
DAMAGE: There is a $250 damage deposit that is required when booking. Any items missing, broken or damaged will be charged to you.
PETS: We are pet-friendly! Dogs are allowed. There is an extra $40 overall charge for your dog. Your dog must be trained and well-groomed, and they are not allowed on furniture or bedding. Any extra work caused by pets will be charged back to you at $20/per hour. NO SMOKING: This is a smoke-free home, if you smoke there is a large covered front patio.
